Position: Senior Research Chemist

Location: Deer Park, TX.

Senior Research Chemist Duties:

In a laboratory setting, identify and develop novel and innovative solutions to a wide variety of chemistry unit operations and process problems in a chemical toll manufacturing environment. Design and convert process concepts into commercially viable chemical processing technologies. Conduct laboratory-scale distillation experiments and single or multi-step synthesis reactions of desired products, intermediates or impurities. Perform multi-step synthesis of charged derivatives of cyclodextrins and chromophores. Purify or enrich reaction products using a variety of techniques including extraction, crystallization, precipitation, evaporation, distillation, column chromatography and preparative HPLC. Perform characterization of samples with complex matrices using various analytical instruments including GC/FID, GC/MS, HPLC/PDA, HPLC/ELSD, CE/UV and CE/INDIRECT UV. Design and develop new sample preparation and derivatization techniques and analytical methods for non-routine samples. Validate analytical results for novel analytical methods. Conduct quantitative analysis of low level impurities using conventional and novel techniques. Keep abreast of emerging technologies from academia and industry.
